Fletcher graduated from Kingston School of Art in 1989 with an honours degree in graphic design and illustration. He has now been a practising Fine Artist for over twenty years. His work explores the human form in the subjects of both dance and nudes. His dance works look at movement and its effect on the human form, whereas his nudes are more introspective being often contemplative, languid and exotic. Fletcher has regularly exhibited in Japan where he is much admired and collected,as he is in the UK. He work has been twice on the cover of the Evening Standard and has been commissioned by the likes of the Royal Shakespeare Company and Sadlers Wells. His work can be found in the private collections including Chase Manhattan Bank, British Airwaiys and BT. On three occassions Fletcher has won the Association of Illustrators award. Fletcher says of his work, " To interpret weight, form, light and and then the flow and line of the human form is the challenge. To be able to create the body with as much economy as possible, like Gustav Klimt's drawings, is the ultimate goal. As a figurative painter, I like the way you are involving the viewer. You are asking them to interpret and add their own experiences to the painting. People cannot help but associate, or relate to a figurative work."
